Looking to party

If you haven't met Sara, where the hell have you been. She is awesome. She has been here for just under a month now and she has desperately been seeking work. I think something has finally come her way, and I couldn't be happier for her. We have been together now for almost 8 months, and things are going great. Please come by and welcome her to TX.

So the new band is kind of interesting. That is if you know me at all, this is a huge stretch for me. I am playing bass (yes, bass) in an all acoustic cover band. We are playing rock, classic rock, and country. We have two very talented guitarists, so they didn't need me on the guitar. They did need a bass player, and while I am rusty at best, things are coming around nicely. Did I mention that all three of us are singing? We will be harmonizing and mixing stuff up. It should sound pretty cool. On a side note, I have also been asked to stand in for a vocalist in a Sepultura cover band for a show. That should be fun as well.

The side business has been going pretty well. I am wrapping up on a project now, and I am ready for a break. At least one of my roommates is ready as well. hehe This project, although slightly longer than anticipated, has gone pretty smooth.

Softball always rocks. The only problem is we are having substantially more rain now than in years past. That means more rain outs. Luckily, I have a new team on Sundays at a field in Arlington. We do get to play more often, so it is my saving grace at this point. This team is actually doing very well. We are undefeated, and behind first place by three points that we hope to make up this weekend. So we are quite excited.

Finally, the big pay off is this weekend. We are having the annual Halloween Party at my house as usual. Come prepared to get drunk and have a good time. There will be snacks and refreshments. Party starts at 9. Hope to see you there.
